At Early Birds, learning happens in the ‘outdoor classroom’ more than it does inside.
As our children enter an age of total digital technology, Early Birds Educators believe in providing more opportunities to ‘play outside’, learn about sustainable practices, and set the foundation for basic understanding of the future challenges their generation will face.
“Getting children involved in their natural environment is beneficial for many reasons, and they go far beyond the usual fresh air and physical activity,” says Centre Director, Lara Van Ling.
Lara and the rest of the Early Birds team take pride in developing natural and dynamic outdoor spaces filled with gardens, ‘worm farms’, ‘mud pits’ and mobile structures.
These areas not only fulfil children’s customary need to run around, but also ignite their imagination and excite their senses.
So whether children grow up to be gardeners, engineers, or astronauts, the hope is, that they are able to one day pass on their sense of responsibility and wild curiosity for the wonderful world around them.
